Last sunday in May: Day of the Turkmen Carpet
On the last Sunday in May, the Day of the Turkmen Carpet is celebrated in the Carpet Museum of the capital Ashgabat with an official ceremony. On this day, both the entrance and taking pictures in the museum is free. In addition to the carpet exhibition, other handicrafts can be seen and purchased.
Apparently, we heard that it is planned to merge the day of the carpet with the day of the Textile Industry, which has so far been celebrated on the first Sunday in June. But for 2018 everythings seems to stay as usual. The Carpet Museum will celebrate the Carpet Day on 27th of May.
